It’s Almost a Guarantee that Illegal Drugs Are Part of Your Daily Diet.

Apple and Walnuts Banned
Did you know that apples contain an illegal drug? So do walnuts. And cherries. And oats. And just about any food

Most of us have an interest in our health and make some attempt to eat well. At the very least, we assume that we have access to both healthy food and information about the health qualities of our food. That has, for the most part, been truebut that’s about to change in the US and Europe. State agencies, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in the US, and the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) and the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in the UK. There are, of course, EU-wide agencies that give the marching orders, but the actual implementation of these policies is managed by the individual countries.

One of the primary techniques in use is to redefine foods as drugs when any health claims are made for them. As long as those health claims are made, the foods are reclassified. Businesses may not sell them and you may not buy them. Either the claims must be removed or the foods must be managed as if they were pharmaceutical drugs, complete with testing for efficacy and safety. This is an obvious suppression of free speech, as the costs involved in bringing a pharmaceutical drug to market are enormous, so sellers of fruits and vegetables cannot pay the costs. Therefore, they must either stop selling their products or stop making health claims. It matters not how true they are or how many scientific studies have been done. The governmental agencies act as the sole arbiters of truth.

The Destruction of Truth and Fact

Their idea of what truth consists of will horrify you. I’ve documented how the FDA has labeled walnuts as drugs because of legitimate health claims. They’ve done the same with cherries and apples and a raft of other foods.

Dannon, maker of yogurt, had made science-based claims that their Activia and DanActive brand yogurts, with live probiotic cultures, could help keep you regular and “help strengthen your body’s defenses” against catching colds and flu. Those statements were all true; they’ve been verified by science. Nonetheless, the FTC took offense. Ultimately, Dannon ended up signing an agreement stating that they wouldn’t make such claims, and agreed to pay damages of $21 million to 39 states.

No claims of harm were made and none were suggested. The FTC simply didn’t like them.

On the other hand, some of the worst food products that exist are being promoted by the FDA as healthy! Frito-Lay, makers of Fritos and Doritos, state on their website:

You might be surprised at how much good stuff goes into your favourite snack. Good stuff like potatoes, which naturally contain vitamin C and essential minerals. Or corn, one of the world’s most popular grains, packed with thiamin, vitamin B6, and phosphorous — all necessary for healthy bones, teeth, nerves and muscles.

The FDA has no problem with that, in spite of the fact that those products are made primarily with grains, like corn; oils, like soybean; so-called “natural flavoring” that hide a host of nasty stuff; and maltodextrin, a sugar substitute that’s third on the list of ingredients!  These are some of the things that are responsible for much of today’s ill health.

The statement that they’re “packed with thiamin, vitamin B6, and phosphorous” is simply ludicrous. Reading the label of Doritos 1st Degree Burn, the nutrients listed are minimal: One serving contains the daily value of 4% of vitamin A, 2% of iron, 0% of either calcium or vitamin C, and that’s all they have listed. Packed with thiamin, vitamin B5, and phosphorus?

But the FDA has no problem with that claim.

Why?

Why is all this happening? Our rights are being infringed, and this is only the beginning. The biggest clue is in the involvement of the FTC. These are health issues. Why is the Federal Trade Commission involved in that? The answer is simple: This is all about trade. It’s about controlling our access to information so that we cannot make rational decisions. At this point, it’s primarily claims made by companies to sell foods that are under attackbut that’s not entirely true. Health food stores are being raided and shut down. Raw milk sellers and producers are under attack.

The government is acting as a front for Big Pharma and Agribusiness in an attempt to eliminate competition and determine what information we have about our food and health. Our rights to health are under attack by the gradual elimination of choice and access to information. Conversely, the very thing being stolen from usour healthis being used as the excuse.

If we hope to maintain our health, it won’t be long before we’ll be forced to eat what the government has defined as illegal drugs, and we’ll be getting our information about health from a black market. Freedom of speech is about to become a thing of the past.

Actually, the way Doritos ‘gets away’ with their advertisement is because they, at no point, come out right and SAY that their product is good for the health of the consumer. They SAY that their product contains potatoes and corn, and that THOSE products have the health claims attached. Therefore, the consumer is to ASSUME Doritos are healthy by these misleading statements. It’s a fine hair to split, but as long as the makers of the product don’t specifically say ‘My product does XXXX in maintaining YOUR health,’ they can get away with it.
As for the rest, you are completely correct – the FDA’s position is “if it can cure or treat a disease, it MUST be a drug…” and that’s where our biggest problem lies – not only does this stance protect the big Pharma houses, it removes common sense from Americans by telling them (in essence) that all you need to stay healthy is not whole, minimally processed grains, fruits, vegetables and meats, but this little pill.

I see. So, they can say that what’s in the food can benefit health, but they cannot then say that the food itself can benefit health. I wonder how long it took them to come up with that distinction without a difference?

But, that doesn’t actually work, either, because it runs counter to the FDA’s (and agencies in the EU’s) standard approach of defining foods as drugs (and banning them) because they contain a substance that is similar to a pharmaceutical drug. Thus, they are having their cake and eating it, too.

I suppose that, when you make the rules, you can make them mean whatever you want, depending on the needs of the moment. Reminds me of Captain Kirk’s card game of fizzbin in Star Trek, when he distracted the jailers by telling them the rules of the game, which varied according to day of the week or whether there was a cloud cover – but only on Wednesdays, and so forth.
