Autism’s False Scientists

April 28, 2013 by admin in Vaccines with 15 Comments

The science behind claims that autism has no association with vaccines is false. While this pseudo science is promoted, the autism rate keeps growing. The vaccine manufacturers are shielded from risk while lives are devastated … and the fake science goes on to support this regime.

Scientist writing on transparent boardby Jagannath Chatterjee

The global epidemic of autism has exploded. In March 2013, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) of the USA declared that it now affects 1 in 50 children in the USA. When compared to the rate of 1 in 14,857 in 1970 in Wisconsin, the terrifying rate of growth vividly stands out. One case of autism is now diagnosed every 20 minutes making this the fastest growing epidemic in history, making the combined growth of AIDS, cancer, and diabetes in children pale in comparison.

Autism is a complex disability resulting in brain damage, gastrointestinal damage, sleep disorders, food sensitivities, epilepsy, immune dysfunction, self destructive behaviour patterns, repetitive behaviour, communication deficits and unresponsiveness to other people. It was first written about in a case study in 1943 by Dr Leo Kanner, who described 11 children with a condition that had never before been observed.

The vast majority of the cases are termed regressive autism, meaning that children seem to suddenly slip into this condition after a stage of normal development. It is this form of autism that has become an epidemic.

Doctors and medical experts baffled by the extensive physical damage noticed in autistic children say that such conditions are likely caused by toxins, particularly as these children are more susceptible and do not have the ability to excrete them. According to them, the behavioural disorders are in fact a reflection of the intense agony experienced by these children who lack the communication skills to verbally express their extreme pain and discomfort. These doctors prefer to call autism a whole body disorder.

According to the CDC, the origin of this epidemic is a mystery. However the agency regularly takes great pains to point out through various discredited studies that it is not caused by vaccines. It also maintains that this disorder, which it terms behavioural, is genetic in origin. While examining the veracity of these claims, it would be prudent to point out that the mandate of the CDC is to ensure that all children follow the vaccine schedule. It thus suffers from a conflict of interest when it says anything about vaccines, as even a hint that vaccines are unsafe goes against its mandate.

It was the parents who first raised the alarm as they observed their normal children react violently after one or many vaccines given at a time, then slipping into a world of their own with a completely different personality and exhibiting strange behaviours they never displayed earlier. The change was difficult not to notice and parents even had videos of their once lovely and playful children to prove their point.

The debate picked up when researchers started comparing the disorder with symptoms of mercury poisoning. A mercury compound called thiomersal, which contains ethyl mercury, is used as a preservative in vaccines. When US politicians raised the issue in Congress, an inquiry was set in motion that revealed vaccinated children received 187.5 μg of this compound by six months and 237 μg by two years of age, clearly exceeding safe limits by a very wide margin. Ethyl mercury can be toxic even in very minute doses. It is also known that this form of mercury crosses the blood brain barrier and can remain in the brain for decades. Evidence of the parallels between mercury intoxication and autism continues to mount.

A nervous CDC, along with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), spurred by the sting of the FDA Modernization Act, recommended in 1999 that mercury in vaccines be phased out as soon as possible. It was a recommendation that was never strictly followed. Stocks of vaccines with thiomersal continued to be given while they lasted. Mercury still remains as a preservative in almost all vaccines given to pregnant mothers and infants in developed nations, either as a preservative or as an excipient, and in developing countries the rule never applied.

Thiomersal is, in fact, so toxic that according to Professor Boyd Haley, no study can ever be designed to prove it safe. As a genotoxin, mercury defies the dose makes the poison rule and is highly dangerous in minute doses.

Recently in a great display of solidarity, the many world bodies enforcing the vaccine mandate saw to it that children will continue to receive this devastating neurotoxin in the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) treaty that tried to eliminate mercury from all products.

In an attempt to end the debate the CDC set in motion two sets of studies. The first, called the Verstraeten study, initially found that more than 25 μg of monthly exposure of thiomersal through vaccines from one to three months could increase the chances of autism by 7.62 to 11.35 times. A blatant cover up and deliberate manipulation ensured an opposite result.  The next set of studies, called the Danish studies, ran into trouble when it emerged that the lead author, Poul Thorsen, defrauded the CDC of a considerable amount by diverting funds to himself. Dr Thorsen is now declared a fugitive by the US after a federal grand jury indicted him, and faces a life sentence if convicted. However the CDC still stands by the results of these studies, pretending that nothing ever happened.

In the latest attempt this March, just before the start of the April Autism Awareness Month, the CDC let loose another study that only compared the antigens in vaccines, while the debate is primarily about preservatives, adjuvants, excipients, and contaminants, and flashed claims all over the globe that multiple vaccines are safe. The Institute of Medicine (IOM) also did a review of existing industry sponsored studies to claim that vaccines do not cause autism. While the latest CDC study has been found to be a rehash of an old database used in an earlier manipulated study, the IOM had emphatically declared its intention to deny the vaccine autism link when its Chief had stated in 2001 “We are never ever going to come down that it [autism] is a true side effect”.

In the meantime, independent research into vaccines as a probable cause of autism has mounted and one researcher has compiled a formidable list of several hundred studies that detail the grave physical damage in autistic children and justify the link to vaccine adverse effects. Various vaccines like the DTaP, MMR, Hep-B, and chicken pox, have become controversial for their probable link to autism. Babies getting multiple vaccines on a single day have regressed into autism and been awarded compensation. To date, the US based National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP) has awarded compensation to 85 cases of vaccine induced autism, including two recent cases in 2012. An Italian Court too has awarded compensation to an autistic child injured by the MMR vaccine.

There has been a flurry of activities to prove that autism is genetic. This has been achieved by withdrawing all funds from vaccine autism studies and pouring them into research studying genes. Up to $27.4 million were wasted on 127 genetic studies from 2006 to March 2012, and still the “autism gene” remains elusive.  Rather, the April 2012 Joseph Baxbaum study found unexplained mutations in 800-1000 genes.

Are genotoxins involved? Ethyl mercury is known to be a genotoxin, and so is aluminium, an adjuvant used in vaccines. The two also interact in synergistic toxicity, making them immensely more toxic when used together. Formaldehyde, a known carcinogen, further adds to the toxic effects of vaccines. Vaccines also contain contaminants from various human and animal matter used. These foreign genetic materials introduced via vaccines may alter human genes in a process called “reverse transcriptase”. Human material used in vaccines is suspect also, because the body may form antibodies against them and then attack itself.

The largest genetic study conducted so far, the Joachim Hallmayer study  in July 2011, upon 192 pairs of twins emphatically declared that autism is more environmental (62%) than genetic (38%). “We have to study both the genetics and the environment,” Hallmayer said, “If we look only at one side, I don’t think that will lead us to the right answer.” However, this very important finding has been ignored and the genetic angle continues to excite scientists drawn by the flow of research funds.

According to Professor Richard Deth,

Perpetuating the myth of autism as a primarily genetic disorder is a disservice to those who might benefit from treatment and diverts attention from nongenetic causes.

More such misdirected efforts have blamed autism on the mothers’ age, the grandfathers’ age, the month of birth of the child, on the mothers’ history of abuse as a child, and the mothers’ history of depression, almost harking back to the dark ages of autism when mothers were blamed for being “cold” towards their children earning them the epithet “refrigerator mothers”.

Instead of proactively reacting to this immense tragedy, the establishment has instead shielded both the vaccine industry and Eli Lilly, the manufacturer of thiomersal, by providing them immunity from law suits. Clearly false scientists are having a field day in this reckless game of hide and seek even as autism rates soar menacingly across the globe.

Excellent and informative article with some very valid points to consider. Thank you!

    Very well put. Thank you.

I am not going to argue against your article because there is enough evidence available on Pubmed supporting both the sides (yay-sayers and nay-sayers) so unless either of the camping party come out of the closet and tells that they fabricated studies, I have no way to know (and I am a scientist too).

Having said that, the evidence that you support of money wasted for genetic studies are extra-ordinarily lame and that clearly tells that you have a limited knowledge of genetic studies. The explanation of genetic linkage to Autism is beyond scope of this comment but have a look at Shank family of proteins (and the phenotypes enxibited by the mutants), one example.

For Jenny McCarthy campers like you, how would you like to explain that Temple Grandin’s brainstem is way bigger than a regular individual? Her new book is coming out in 2 weeks. Make sure to read that book and please try to connect the dots of her bigger brainstem to vaccines. It will be a great reading for many of us.

And I have a son on spectrum. He was not vaccinated for 6 months after his birth and looking back, he showed some symptoms that would have signaled an expert of Autism but we did not understand until he was 14 months old (by which he was vaccinated). So as I said, I do not have argument for or against vaccination and yes, I am upset about protecting industry as well. When it comes to giving pay outs, its how the legal battles are played. It is not unheard of that an innocent person get jailed for life for a crime he did not commit.

Finally, there are literally zillions of theories, some sound like snake oil, some make sense and some feel like just circumstantial but the disorder as it is (i.e. a spectrum), I am sort of reaching to a conclusion that it is a genetically loaded gun and the environment (zillions of factors) are triggers. Depending on the environment the parents/children are exposed to decides the phenotype. For e.g. There is very little evidence of autistic Somalian kids but those young families that moved to Scandinavia have very high incidences of Autism, so is it just vaccine of it could be as simple as Vit. D deficiency in those pregnant ladies (covered from head to toe in the region of the world with very little sun exposure?)
AN argument will be endless but I will stop here.

Okay, I’ll explain the brainstem of Temple Grandin. It most assuredly does not require genetics to explain it. All it takes is an agent that can affect the brain’s development – like a toxin from a vaccination.

And just how long did it take you to figure out that your child’s first six months weren’t quite normal? Your own wording clarifies that it wasn’t something you realized at the time – and that makes your belated observation questionable.

And just how many Somalian children have been vaccinated compared to Somalian children raised in Scandinavia? That argument demonstrates nothing of value.

If it were as simple as a vitamin D deficiency, then autism would be found far more in the northern part of a country like the US. And if that were true, then you can be sure that the CDC, and other agencies, would have published that information long ago.

I can certainly appreciate why you’d want to find reasons to believe that your child’s autism isn’t related to vaccines – but you most assuredly have provided nothing to support the contention.

I can certainly appreciate why you’d

What it really takes is evidence, not arguments. Only studies with very small sample sizes have managed to link autism and vaccines, while evidence from large sample sizes (the Danish study, records from Japan where different vaccines with different ingredients were used and use of vaccines were suspended completely at a stage but autism rates were unaffected) do not show a connection. Any one who knows about statistics will understand why studies with sample rates of hundreds of thousands of samples (japan, denmark) must be a better reflection of reality than a study with a sample size of 12 (Wakefield’s study that concluded the MMR vaccine causes autism)

Danish studies? The one’s done by the fugitive Poul Thorsen? LOL! You could have well mentioned Verstreaten, or better still Julie Gerberding!

Heidi Stevenson, I will respond to your comment. My son displays some form of autism, which is not so obvious to other people. I noticed some strange behaviors in him since he was a baby, but since I did not know anything about it, I had no idea if this was something I should be concerned. Babies act strange and most of them outgrow it. He was NEVER vaccinated (not even vit.K at birth). It got bad when he was 3.5 years old. Before his birth I ate 100% organic home made fresh food. It seamed like I had a very healthy pregnancy. Now, I have a 1.5 old girl who has some of the same symptoms that I did see in my son and she has speech delays. She was NEVER vaccinated. What happened here? I am as well did not have vaccines for more then 15 year.

I do not dismise vaccine connection, but there is more to it. I believe vaccines aggravate underlying condition and make child sicker. Vaccines were developed for heathy people with a very strong immunity. We have very week population this days and immunity disoders are very common and they are very common in kids too. No one evaluate our children before vaccine to see if they can handle them. Babies are vaccinated almost right away. How anyone can know if a child healthy from day he/she was born?

We think we are healthy. We are sicker then ever and out kids born even sicker. I ordered my doctor to test my kids for gut flora. I saw that they struggled with digestion, having food sensitivities, gas, and loose stool. They both had C.Diff. Our doctor was shocked. They never had antibiotics. The interesting thing is that I had lots of antibiotics when I was teen and my guts flora was damaged badly. I was working on it for years and just now started feeling good. I am treating my kids from it and their symptoms get less pronounced and disappearing. I know this is a long road and I need to be patined. Recovery will be slow and hopefully C.Diff will go for good.

So, autism is very difficult to diagnose and treat. Looks like there are too many things that can trigger it. Vaccines aggravate undetected autism or even make child autistic.

I agree there is an awful lot behind the gut/brain connection. I am sure many people have a compromised gut flora, and resulting immune deficiency right from conception. Regardless of whether we eat a ‘healthy’ diet or not, and especially if that ‘healthy’ diet contains modern wheat products – renowned for damaging the gut, it doesn’t mean that we have good health.

I am convinced that antibiotics do have a role to play in undermining the immune system, and therefore making us reliant upon them. How can we pass on strong health and a good immune system to our kids when we don’t have one ourselves?

Although the argument as to whether vaccines trigger Autism is still raging, my personal view is that it probably depends on the child. How strong their immune system is at the point of vaccination, and how good their health. It’s possible that the same vaccination given 3 months later may not have the same effect as when given at the designated point.

Vaccines, and especially the dreaded MMR, are a huge onslaught on very juvenile and vulnerable immune systems. As much of the immune system is regulated by the gut – and there are strong gut associations with Autism, it seems very logical to suspect a link. A child whose immune system manages to cope with the vaccine onslaught may escape. A child whose immune system is overwhelmed by the onslaught, may not. It could be that simple.

I don’t think that getting Autism is necessarily a given. But all processes and functions in the body need nutritional elements in order to work efficiently. Any shortage – or as in the case of vaccination onslaught – a diversion of those elements will inevitably impact elsewhere. A child whose nutritional strength is being diverted to deal with unwanted toxins will almost certainly not be able to function normally.

When the city is under siege, so many soldiers may be diverted to deal with that, that other areas become unprotected. It’s not rocket science.

This article is very well written and is a very good analysis of the debate. However it does not factor in the intense anger, agony and frustrations of the parents affected and let down by a system they initially trusted. No debate on autism is complete without that. The parents want both answers and real help from the Governments. They have been left in the lurch for too long.

If this was a balanced article it would mention Wakefield’s vested interests in single dose vaccines, appallingly small sample group, and other bad science, not only Thorston’s thievery.

How incredibly sad – I wish more parents would stop vaccinating their children…

  • http://www.facebook.com/lior.losinsky Lior Losinsky

I find the genetic argument hard to understand. How can the genes of children be so different nowadays compared to 50 years ago? The genetic theory would make potential sense if this has been the same problem for many years without an explanation. I’m sure autism has a multi aspected cause, but as with the masive increases in childhood asthma, childhood allergies and other childhood diseases of autoimmune and inflammatory causes, should we not be looking at all changes to the environment that we are living in, as well as dietary changes, vaccination schedules, the massive increase in toxic chemical exposures and the like. If we keep poisoning our children from all angles, what do we expect to happen?

  • Marina Martin

Scientist have to look everywhere, not just genetics nor just vaccines. No one yet pin point at one cause of autism. Autism is complexes disorder. Many things can effect our children. But vaccines can make even more damage to a week immunity. I think we should look at environment that make us week and unhealthy. Vaccines are dangerous, no argument, but they are usually dangerous for immunocompromised individuals. I did not see a single healthy child and only one healthier then others. Parents who vaccinated their children and have no autism in family say why it was okay for them. Well, we are all different. Most kids will have ADD, ADHD, asthma, serious digesteve disorders and other immunity disorders. It does not have to be autism. We have to look at real cause as well, but we should stop making more damage continuing with crazy amount of vaccination until we learn how to fix the underlying cause of autism.
