Chinese Medicine Blues
“Two thousand years of working but it’s all claptrap.” The UK’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) is trying to put alternative medicine practitioners out of business. They’ve started putting out letters to practitioners telling them, basically, that they can’t say what they do on their websites. They can’t say they treat anything. That’s because the monopolistic powers of conventional medicine, supported by Big Pharma and Agribusiness, don’t allow it. The right to choose one’s health practitioner is being stolen from us, and the right to practice a modality not authorized by the state’s paid-up licensees is destroying the livelihoods of people with extensive training and knowledge, people who’ve done only good and never harmed a soul—which would be a humorous contradiction to the monopolistic mainstream, were it not so utterly tragic how many lives they destroy.
Nonetheless, there’s still some humor to be found among practitioners. Enjoy this music video, Chinese Medicine Blues [5:31]:
