Fluorine Poison Is Rampant in Pharmaceuticals

September 10, 2012 by admin in Pharmaceuticals with 5 Comments

Fluorine is a poison with no place in any living metabolism. Yet, it’s commonplace in pharmaceuticals. (Includes a list of drugs with fluorine.)

Fluorine Pillby Heidi Stevenson

Fluorine is a poison. It has no place in the metabolism of humans, animals, or plants. It destroys bones and teeth, and wreaks havoc on all body systems. Fluorine is one of the most pervasive elements in pharmaceutical drugs.

Modern drug-based medicine depends on fluorine. Early symptoms of poisoning are generally not recognized, as they are commonly experienced. These can include excess salivation, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. One must wonder how many people believe they have flu when they’re actually suffering from fluorine poisoning.

These symptoms are insidious because they can indicate the beginnings of severe metabolic disorders that lead to endocrinological diseases, such as hypocalcemia, hypomagnesemia, hyperkalemia, and hypoglycemia. These conditions can have knock-on effects throughout the body in chronic disorders. Subclinical imbalances in any of these necessary substances—calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sugar—can result in long term and permanent harm.

Fluorine poisoning can also result in neurological damage, including headaches, tremors, spasms, tetanic contractions, hyperactive reflexes, seizures, and muscle weakness. Ultimately, it causes teratogenic disorders—birth defects of the worst sort.

It is, in fact, fluorine that makes dioxins so horrific. (For information about dioxin poisoning in the United States, along with a photo gallery of deformities that its incarnation as Agent Orange in Vietnam unleashed and its effects on children in England, go here.

Cardiovascular involvement can result in widening of QRS (abnormality in heartbeat that can result in sudden death), arrhythmias, shock, and cardiac arrest.

Many common, and many infamous, drugs contain fluorine: Prozac, the first SSRI. Flonase, decongestant. Lipitor and Baycol, cholesterol reducers. Diflucan, antifungal drug. Cipro, antibiotic. Prevacid and Propulsid, antacids. This list goes on…and on and on.

Ingesting a drug with fluorine is a risky act. You might think that special warnings would be placed on drugs compounded with fluorine, but none is.

To help you protect yourself, here’s a list of most of the fluorine-based drugs, broken down by their typical use. The list is by generic name. Let the pointer hover over a name with a dotted underline to see a display of names under which the drug is sold. If the drug has been removed from the market, the year is added in parentheses.

Heidi, In most of the drugs you list the fluorine is chemical bonded to a carbon atom. Such a bond is incredibly strong and doesn’t tend to be metabolised by the body. Instead it will be safely excreted from the body. Many of your fears seem to be based on the effects of fluoride rather than fluorine containing molecules – there is quite a difference between the effects of these two entities. Your concern about dioxins is valid however, it should be noted that dioxins tend to contain chlorine not fluorine, and that their ill effects are due to the structure of the dioxin molecule as a whole not just the presence of the chlorine atoms. By suggesting that many of these potentially life saving drugs are dangerous you could unnecessarily frighten someone into making a risky choice. Not a good idea

The fact is that the list of drugs with fluorine in it includes some of the most toxic that exist. Considering how consistently toxic these drugs are, it seems odd to suggest that what they have in common – fluorine – isn’t the issue.

It also seems rather bizarre to suggest that the bonding with carbon makes the fluorine apparently irrelevant – just passed on through the body. If that’s so, then why would the fluorine be there in the first place? Window dressing?

Are you aware that there’s a growing movement against just one of the antibiotics, ciprofloxacin? It’s causing horrible adverse effects.

Taking these drugs IS a risky choice! People have a right to know just how risky.

Drugs can be toxic for many reasons due to metabolic breakdown or processing by the body.
Yes there is fluorine present but it serves various purposes as it is a halogen it can change the acidity or the basicity of the compound the pKa of its side chains etc it can also increase its bioavailability in short it is essential for the drug to work in most cases.
There is no reason to spend a vast amount of money adding fluorine to things if it only served to be toxic pharmaceutical companies aren’t stupid you know also if they were found to be adding something toxic to something they would be shut down or have a very hefty fine.
As mentioned by Michael the fluorine is strongly bonded to the carbon fluorine is very unlikely to removed from the carbon and as long as it doesn’t it cannot possibly cause fluorine poisoning.
Fluorine is present in a vast amount of drugs so its like saying nitrogen or oxygen are toxic because they are present in drugs that have toxic side effects (nitrogen and carbon together form cyanide) and i would say the vast majority or drugs fail tests with toxicity whether they contain fluorine or not.

I would appreciate that you take some classes on drug development, chemistry and biology before starting a campaign such as this which only serves to scare people. Although i would encourage everyone to learn about drugs yes some are toxic and have side effects drug development is incredibly difficult to completely remove any possible risk but it is a risk worth taking i think we would be far worse of without any medicinal drugs

You’re a pharmaceutical shill. The fact is that the drugs with fluorine in them have proven to be highly toxic – again and again and again.

People need to learn what pharmaceutical drugs really are – poisons. That they may have some beneficial effects is fine, but those need to be balanced against the harmful ones – and the balance almost always comes out against the drug.

Pharmaceutical corporations do everything they can to hide the harmful effects of their products. They lie, cheat, evade, produce fraudulent studies, and buy off the doctors, journals, news media, and health agencies.

It’s truly beyond me to comprehend how you can live with yourself.

          • Ben

I’m a student at a university i did a drug development course as part of
my wider degree because yes pharmaceutical companies definitely paid me
to go to some blog and make a rational argument backed up with actual
            mechanistic logic and educational experience…
            The fact you assumed i
was a plant or shill shows how weak your argument is and how little you
know about the subject of your moral crusade show me some data that
clearly provides evidence fluorine is the atom in the compound that is
responsible i can give you several reviews of why fluorine is included
and why it is not a significant risk to those taking the drugs in
question and that the toxic effects of many of the supposedly ‘fluorine
poison’ drugs are explained by other interactions in the compound which
weren’t foreseen when testing occurred or that when testing occurred it
was before discoveries that there may be harmful side effects. Do you
really believe a company intentionally wants to harm or kill people can
you imagine how bad for business that would be.

            Yes
pharmaceutical companies lie etc but they are usually found out and
fined massively i cant think of one example where that has occurred due
            to fluorine being present
            http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/health-news/drug-giants-fined-11bn-for-criminal-wrongdoing-8157483.html

            I
live with myself fine because i can rest easy that everyone isnt out to
get me unlike what your article seems to claim also i severely doubt
you haven’t or wont take any medicinal drug in your life that has a
possible adverse side effect. Medicine is the difference between today
where our life expectancy is as high as its ever been and back when the
average person was lucky to live until 40 and drugs are a huge factor in
            this

Also banning my email really can you not take criticism of a poor argument you are irrational unscientific and a disgrace to the public domain have some dignity and atleast try to find the evidence to back up your nonsense claims
