Failure of Whooping Cough Vaccine Used to Promote More Vaccinations

In this Age of Vaccinations, anything and everything is used to press for more vaccines. It makes no difference if there’s any sense in it. Even the failure of a vaccine is being used to scare people into getting more of that same vaccine!

A newly published study in the journal, Clinical Infectious Diseases, found that the children most susceptible to recent whooping cough (pertussis) outbreaks have been those who had been vaccinated and were aged 8 through 12.

The senior author of the study, Dr. David Witt, stated, “We have a real belief that the [vaccine’s] durability is not what was imagined.” Why he was unaware of that is hard to comprehend, as the lack of lasting effect in most vaccines has been well established.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) says that children should receive the pertussis vaccine, in combination with diphtheria and tetanus vaccines, at the ages of  2, 4, 6. and 18 months, again between the ages of 4 and 6, and yet again during the teens, preferably age 11-12, though most are apparently getting it later than that. After analyzing the data, Witt and his team found that the majority of pertussis cases were happening in vaccinated, not unvaccinated children. Further, the older the children—that is, the longer it had been since receiving the vaccine—the more likely they were to get the disease.

In other words, the pertussis vaccine lasts only a short time. It doesn’t even come close to providing lifetime protection—losing effectiveness within a couple of years of an injection. This contrasts with the lifelong immunity conferred by the disease itself. And, of course, the significant risks of vaccination—including autism, other neurological disorders and diseases, and even death—are not considered.

Nonetheless, the insane knee jerk reaction never changes. Vaccinations don’t last? Get more of ‘em!

Cocooning?

The CDC is now pressing for adolescents and people over age 65 to get another dose of the pertussis vaccine.

They’re also using the guilt button to press people into vaccinating to “cocoon” babies from the disease. What they don’t tell people is that babies were once protected for their first couple of years because their mothers passed antibodies developed from the disease itself. That doesn’t happen in vaccinated mothers. The vaccine’s artificial immunity isn’t passed to their children.

Thus, the reason that babies need to be protected by cocooning is the vaccinations themselves!

The Study

Entitled “Unexpectedly Limited Durability of Immunity Following Acellular Pertussis Vaccination in Pre-Adolescents in a North American Outbreak”, the study was done on a large scale. Dr. David Witt is a Kaiser Hospital infectious disease doctor in Marin County, California. It serves 40% of that county’s population, about 135,000 people.

From March 1st through October 31st, 2010, they found 171 cases of pertussis. 132 were in children, and they noted an increase in cases aged 8-12. From birth to age 6, there were very few cases, with an increase from 6-12, where the rate peaked.

The rate of effectiveness in the pertussis vaccine was:

  • Ages 2-7: 41%
  • Ages 8-12: 24%
  • Ages 13-18: 79%

The improved effectiveness in teens was attributed to a booster vaccination generally given about age 13. However, there appears to have been no consideration for exposure to pertussis. It would seem likely that teens would be less exposed to younger children as they start to move into the world and grow away from their families.

The authors concluded that there is a need to increase the number of pertussis vaccinations given. However, one must wonder how they can justify that suggestion, when it’s recommended that children between the ages of 7 and 9 not be given the pertussis vaccine. That’s right at the age when the number of cases starts going up!

In fact, a medical epidemiologist from the CDC, Dr. Tom Clark, said that moving the early adolescence vaccine to an earlier age is problematic, and:

It’s likely if we move doses around we’d shift the burden of disease, but not necessarily reduce it.

Clark is, effectively, stating that the goal of whooping cough eradication is actually not possible!

GlaxoSmithKline, a pertussis vaccine manufacturer, claims only about 78% efficacy against whooping cough up to age 6. Yet, we’ve seen in this study that the effectiveness grows even less after that age!

The Vaccine Story Is Falling Apart …

The vaccine story is coming apart. When previously announced studies give results that run counter to what the researchers had hoped to find, they solve the problem by making conclusions that run completely counter to their results. In this case, they found that the pertussis vaccine is far from fully effective, and that it rapidly loses it. So, they concluded that the solution is to give more of the vaccine they’ve just shown to be less than effective.

They made this recommendation in spite of the fact it’s already considered questionable to give another pertussis vaccine between ages 7 and 11. In other words, the kids are already maxed out on it!

They’re caught in a trap, but they aren’t admitting it. And they’re ignoring another, even more significant point: The pertussis vaccine has led to development of a new and more virulent strain of the disease, which causes 10 times as many deaths as the old variety. This is the strain that’s now going around.

… But It Doesn’t Matter

Nothing stops this profit machine. The pertussis vaccine’s failure is also being used to scare parents and other adults in contact with babies to get the pertussis vaccine themselves.

Success or failure of a vaccine, it’s all the same to the pushers of these injected drugs. In fact, failure is probably preferred, since it’s so easily spun as yet another reason to give more vaccinations. And of course, any harm done means more patients for the medical maw.

Vaccinations are where Big Pharma sees the future of their industry. Any excuse, no matter how weak, absurd, or outright nonsensical, is trotted out to pressure people into accepting them. The medical journal industry profits right along with Big Pharma by publishing the pseudo science. The mainstream media does not investigative journalism; all they do is parrot the press releases written by Big Pharma. And the doctors go right along with it, because vaccinations bring people into their offices.

Vaccinations are all about profits, not about the people’s health. The results of this pertussis vaccine study and its cockeyed conclusion clarify that.
