Statins, a Drug Considered for Food Condiment Status, Increase Blood Sugar & Lead to Diabetes
People diagnosed with diabetes, or even considered likely to become diabetic, are often automatically placed on statins, under the presumption that diabetes naturally leads to heart disease. As it turns out, the prescription itself is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Statins appear to be causing diabetes and worsening the condition.
The JUPITER trial (Justification for the Use of Statins in Primary Prevention: An Intervention Trial Evaluating Rosuvastatin), a large study intended to demonstrate the value of statins, is instead starting to show exactly the opposite. It should come as no surprise, as metastudies have already demonstrated that statins do plenty of harm, and with precious little benefit. (Not to mention the fact that I reported the statin-diabetes connection over 1½
years ago.
There is, of course, plenty of weaseling around to avoid admitting the truth. Now, we’re being treated to the idea that abnormal blood sugar—
the defining signature of diabetes—
isn’t necessarily the real thing. It may not be “true diabetes”. And if you believe that…
To summarize, statin risks include:
- Diabetes
- Memory Loss
- Myopathy (nerve damage)
- Rhabdomyolysis (muscle breakdown)
- Liver damage
- Dermatomyositis (skin and muscle inflammation, an autoimmune disorder)
Statins are one of the most insidious drugs ever developed, and they are more and more routinely being given out by doctors to anyone who has reached age 40 or 50. They’ve been suggested as equivalent to food condiments that should be given out at fast food restaurants. They’re being included in polypills that are to be taken by everyone over a certain age. And all this goes on in the face of more and more evidence of their devastation on health.
